Hi! We're Emily and Tony.

Welcome, we're glad you're here!
Our story began in 2010. Since meeting in high school, we’ve been grinding it out in our careers — Tony working his way through training to become an ER doctor with a specialization in telehealth, and Emily putting in her time in public service before founding and running her own consulting business.
Our relationship has been the one constant through it all, as we relocated together every few years, moving in lockstep from one professional milestone to the next. Occasional visits with family and friends and two vacations per year were always the light at the end of the tunnel — just enough to keep us going.
But somewhere along the way, we realized we were shaping our lives around our work, instead of the other way around.
We've decided it’s time for a new chapter.
We’re writing this in March 2025. At the end of June, we will leave our apartment in Philadelphia with one backpack each, board a flight to Slovenia, and take the first step in a new chapter we call Exploring What Matters. With no home base, no car, and no more than what we can carry, our goal is to make space to explore what matters most to us: reconnecting with loved ones, prioritizing our health, and deepening our passion for travel, food, and other cultures.
This isn’t meant to be a “travel blog” or manifesto. It’s simply a space to share what we’re up to and what we learn as we try to live more intentionally. We’re certainly not here to tell anyone else what should matter, but we hope that someone, somewhere, may find our journey interesting, inspiring, or helpful. We invite you to join us as we explore what matters, document the journey as it unfolds, and share what we discover along the way.
